For your topic, I'd try writing some informational articles and bookmarking them on as many social bookmarking sites as you can. People are always searching for how-tos on stuff like setting up home theater equipment.
Submit to the smaller SB sites along with the main ones like Digg, deli.cio.us, etc.
Those sites may get less traffic, but your article will stay on the front page longer, giving you more overall exposure.
