I agree with the above posters on writing articles and submitting them is a good way for to obtain one-way backlinks.

Commenting on Do Follow blogs and writing great content are other good options.

If you are a "make money online" site you could submit your site to
http://www.45n5.com/top100/.

You would gain a backlink there and a lot of bloggers usually put the same info. on their site, which would give you more backlinks.

Commenting on blogs can be also a source of one way link... But just be sure that the blog has a "do follow" link...
