i use statcounter.com and lately ive been getting alot of unique visitors, are these google crawlers? how often do google crawlers make their rounds? and is their a way to filter them? is this the right sub forum to post this?

Paul, I'm not sure how statcounter reports things so it's hard to know, but Google spiders should identify themselves as Googlebot or Mediabot.

There are a lot of other robots though and it's possible your visitors are robots. Some stats programs are better than others about filtering robots out.

I'll move this to an seo related forum since I think you'll get better information there. I'm sure someone here uses statcounter and can help more than I could.

chickensoupabox - i used statcounter for quita time now, and i can say that i dont believe that they count cralwers and such as uniques. . . and besides, crawlers dont crawl ur site to often, therfor when you said you got somw uniques DAILY, it means that the posability that they are all crawlers is slim, therfor congrats - you got some nice traffic
