no..you don't have to include the word blog on it...you can optimize your blog just like when you optimize a site...web design and development can be one of your target keyword..use http://inventory.overture.com to see what other keywords you may target...IMO you may target those less popular keywords first and when you got rankings there you may switch to more popular keywords..goodluck

Actually every on your blog can be your targeted keyword. I actually use the targeted keyword on my site on my blog. I just write an article using the targeted keyword of my site then posted it on my blog.

I suggest targeting some smaller web dev related terms. Its easier and you will gain speed in the SE's as you go. Before you know it you can dominate. Feel free to pm me for any info you need.

include keywords which are relevant to your site. you don't have to include the word blog since it has no connection to your site.
