It is my first post but I am not a noobie.I have one problem.I used to rank third at one of my keywords on google.Suddleny I lost 5-6 position.I looked at my backlinks - the same number when I check theirs it appers that they put in 2-3 days about 40-50 comments on blogs with a high PR ( 4-5-6) with their link and title even if the comments are not related to subject. If those comments will not be remove they'll still rank better than me??

Finally to be more specific my question is : If we are speaking about SEO is this a good way to rank well?

Thanks a lot for your time guys.

It's unlikely that your position change is going to be a result of something you have done. It's more likely it's a result of what the people who used to be below have done.

You have to remember that every site below you in the SERPS are trying to get above you. And if they do get above you it means you have to go down.

Just do more of what you have always done and if your site deserves good ranking it will get it.

It's important to remember that your rank is never etched in stone. It can go up or down from either something you did or something your competitors did. Google may have decided that some links pointing to your site are no longer to be trusted and that dropped you a few places. Your rank can also change because Google changes their algorithm. They may end up putting less weight on something you did or more weight on something your competitors did.

Maybe some changes your competitors made to their page titles or some new links they got jumped them over you in the SERPs.

I doubt it was because of the comments since chances are the links in the blog comments had a rel="nofollow" on them and Google shouldn't be counting them at all.

Will they continue to rank ahead of you. Probably until they either make some changes that Google doesn't like or Google changes it's mind about something they've already done.

Even better is if you work to get more links pointing to your pages and move up in the results instead of waiting for them to move down.

I understand that man. My question is if they went up over me because they post those comments which appear on a page with Pr 5 and google also consider that a link to their webiste because I checked.

@vangogh : Thanks for your detailed answer. Are you sure that " nofollow" rel is true? I am asking because I think to make the same things they done. ... My selling decrease from 700-800$ in half-month to 400-500 and the traffic is decreasing.

versu I have no idea about the specific links since I don't know what sites they're on. If you know where those links are look at the source code and see if the nofollow has been applied.

There's no way any of us can tell you exactly why your competitiors are ahead of you now without some more information. We'd need to know the sites in question as well as the keyword. Without both all we can do is speak in generalities.

You must continue your link building campaign. Sometimes your rankings disappear because google has different data center.
