im trying to get my website up and off the ground properly, and was wondering what you guys think of targeted traffic, like what some of these websites sell:

Or what do you recommend on doing? ive done all the things i can do myself to the website, now i just need ideas, or recommendations.

if you want massive amount of traffic from google, you have to be on a site that google loves. Submit your articles to Ezinarticles.com and have your site's link at the bottom of the articles and watch as you get free search engine traffic

chris is right, save your money. Create Articles and submit them to article directories. Check out the article directories listed at http://www.homebiztools.com/article-dir.htm, they are subdivided into popular, high traffic, established and new article directories.

article submission is a good point...

Also, press release can help. You can also promote your website to different ads sites.

You'll just waste your money...save it!!!article submission is good way though it'll depend on how readers will find your articles before they'll visit your site...if they find your article valuable then probably they'll go to your site to read more of it... create quality articles and put your link on the resource box...

There are loads of traffic exchanges out there also which you can surf and display your site for free, just a suggestion lol

these programs will not do much for you in terms of sales or leads. use adwords and work with seo.

Search the forum or DP, there is a webmaster said he spent a lot money in google Adwords, but only got $10 back from the traffic.

However if you have a lot budget or VC, you can do the same as ebay/paypal, etc, which was popular due to their advertisement.

Buying traffic is not good. Even if you have 5000 traffic daily but you don't get quality traffic it's useless.

Targeted Traffic is completely worthless, unless your intent is to annoy people.

Most targeted is generated by pop up ads, which everybody hates. Never mind the fact most everyone today has a pop up blocker. The traffic you recieve is not someone coming to your site, it is a pop up window sent to someone's computer ip address, who does not want to see your site, generally. If they have a pop up blocker, your ad is sent and then their blocker blocks it, but 1 of your targeted traffic credits is still used up, even though they never seen your site.

The only targeted traffic that is even remotely worth buying (*remotely, not really worth it) is expired domain traffic from a related domain. Meaning if your site sells baseball hats and you recieved traffic from an expired domain that also sold baseball hats it may be some what worth it.

Most traffic you can buy are scams and ripoffs. They use a program to make it look like your sites getting hits. I mean really how can you direct traffic to a site without paying for hge amounts of advertising. It would cost more than the 50 bucks or whatever these con artists will charge you. If you wanna buy traffic use google adwords or something equivilent.
