What is body prominence?

Firstfuly I would like to apologise if I post a tread about body prominence question. If i did I can't find it.

Can someone let me know what is body prominence? And how does it effect PR. I found out that my site has 95%? Is this good and what effect it will give to my site. Sorry about asking too much questions in one tread.

I believe it relates to having key text/phrases/titles as close to the <body> tag in your code as possible. It supposedly makes it easier for search engines to crawl them.

I have CSS specifications between body and my meta tags. Does that mean they are not close to each other?

it is the fondly imagined idea that SE indexers will give more weight to words/phrases that appear first in the page.
Just the usual BS that keeps being dredged up under different guises, ignore it as a metric.

95% of what ??? just like all statistics taken out of context, it means absolutely nothing. So it it neither good or bad and will have NO noticeable effect.

It will not affect PR in the slightest PR is only only only affected by links and only links.

Why have you got CSS and meta tags inside the body tags?

No I meant CSS between end of META tags and start of Body tag.

You've probably meant keyword prominence, I've never heard of body prominence.

Keyword prominence is a measure of keyword importance that indicates how close a keyword is to the beginning of the analyzed page area.
If some word is used at the beginning of the title, headings, or close to the beginning of the visible text of the page, it is considered more important than other words.

Prominence is calculated separately for each important page area. HTML markup lets you emphasize certain document areas against the others. The most important items are placed at the top, and their importance is gradually reduced towards the bottom.

Keyword prominence works much the same way. Usually, the closer a keyword to the top of a page and to the beginning of a sentence, the higher its prominence is. However, search engines also check if the keyword is present in the middle and at the bottom of the page, and you should be aware of that.

100% prominence is given to a keyword or keyphrase that appears at the beginning of the analyzed page area. The keyword/keyphrase in the middle of the analyzed area will have 50% prominence.

it's simply pseudo scientific BS spread by the "experts" to keep SEO as some kind of "black art"

No one is trying to keep SEO as 'black art' it's as simple and straight forward as it can be.
But there's many people spreading ocult myths that make SEO look like impossible task.
