That depends on what you are hoping to achieve by converting your existing site to a blog.

Not sure we could answer without more details about your site and current traffic. I'm assuming the site is the one in your signature. What kind of traffc do you get? Is it traffic from search engines? Are you planning on keeping the same domain?

Instead of converting everything there to a blog you could always just add a blog to the current site.

Could you give us more details about the site's popularity and traffic and why you want to convert to a blog?

I have a different website and its homepage is a template with links embedded.
I was thinking of converting it into a blog but keeping all the links. This way i can have both the same links as well as the blog.

This domain name i am talking about has a pagerank of 4.

Thanks in advance..

I guess I'm still not understanding why you want to convert the site into a blog. You can always just add another link that points to a blog. Is there a reason you want to convert the site to a blog?

Could you post a link to the site?

Jason I think there are many good uses for a blog and many ways it can help, but it's not something automatic. In this case I don't think weve heard the reason for wanting the blog yet. A blog isn't any kind of magic. Converting a site to a blog just so there's a blog there doesn't help anything.

Puneet I'm still wondering why you want a blog? Are you planning on adding new posts consistently to the site? If so I think a blog is great and I think simply adding one to the site is fine instead of converting all the existing pages to it.

If you're just thinking the site will do better because it now uses blog software that's not going to be the case.

I'm with vangogh. If you have an existing site that is working for you, what would "converting" it to a blog accomplish?

And more importantly, what type of content is it? It may not even convert to a blog. People keep bastardizing WordPress templates and are creating "blogs" for all sorts of useless crap.

So what exactly is the deal here?
