Just to clarfy a deep link would be to a page deep in your website not from that page.
Some directories will let you link to deeper pages beyond the home page though many only allow links to the home page. There are other ways though to get those deep links. You can start with your own site. If you have content on your home page that refers to another page on your site that's 3 levels deep by all means add a link to that content somewhere to that deeper page.
You can add deeper links in your forums signature. If you look at my signature I have a link to my home page as well as 3 other links to deeper pages on my site.
The ideal situation is to have such good content on those deep pages that as other site owners come across those pages they naturally link to them.
You can write articles that you submit for webmasters to freely use on their sites and in the bio of yourself for the article or in the content of the article add some deep links back to your site. If you do a search for 'article submission sites' on the forum here you should find some good threads with lots of links to places to submit articles. Praveen started an excellent one awhile back.
Directories aren't the only place to get links. They may prefer links to your home page, but some and many other sources will be happy to link to yoru deeper pages.
