Hi, all,
I've been trying to come up with a way to provide fresh content without having to spend a lot of time writing articles and such. I'm not being lazy, I just don't have the time to spend right now. Anyway, here are the points that I was hoping to get some feedback on...
1. I'm thinking of using both news feeds and article feeds. Will this benefit me with the search engines, or will it just be viewed as duplicate content and hurt my rankings?
2. I'm optimizing for a new site to market my web design services in a new locality. So, should I use local business news feeds or web industry related news feeds? I'm leaning toward the industry news for the simple factor of impressing upon potential customers that I am legitimate and know my business. But, on the other hand, local news would help with location keywords. A little bit of a Catch 22, but I know that once you get the traffic, your site needs to sell itself, too. So, I'm not sure which would be more beneficial at this point and was hoping for some objective feedback.
3. Most RSS feeds just link to an external site for the full article, so I wouldn't be getting the benefit of a whole article. Does anyone know of a way to tie this content more directly into my site? Does this possibility even exist?
4. In your experience, how beneficial is it to use such feeds for keeping fresh content on your site in terms of improving your presence in Google and Yahoo?
Any other thoughts and comments are greatly appreciated. I appreciate anyone who can share their experiences with RSS feeds as I have limited experience with them.
Thanks!
Sherry
