Can any body tell me that Submission to Free directories and search engine is enough to improve your ranking ?.

I have got a new SEO project. He wants me to drive 50,000 customer in 4 months.

Know submisson to all Free directories and search engine can achieve my client target or i have to do other things.

What should i do to get my target ?

Get a new project with realistic targets!

It's not gonna happen with free directory listings!!!

If the Ts & Cs allow it, try something like this, even though I'd normally suggest not going near paid traffic schemes - they're probably all fake and/or useless!

Submission in Free Directories can help you but it is not enough. There are a lot of other ways to improve your rankings.

I have been using free submission services for years and have been successful with its results.

I would consider an Adwords campaign. I've had great success with this in the past - the traffic seems to convert much better than those from organic searches.

But, as Chris Hirst says above, consider getting a new project, 50,000 hits in 4 months is a pretty unreasonable target I think.

I use only paid reputable submission services.

You can do something else also to build backlinks including directories submission.Directories submission takes some time to drive traffic to your site.So do article marketing,blog commenting also to get the traffic.

Free submissions are useful if they are listed in Google or if they have a good PR and alexa.

Oh 50,000. Using tool for it.. Do not thing this will helps in Ranking.. bcz may be submitted too bad neibherhood.. also can not sure how much will be approved.. Even it approve how mcuh will having quality.... So do not waste much in dir.. work with other sources like forum, article, bookmarking etc

submit in high pr site will give high quality inbound links to your site,but it will take time to show you the result. with your seemingly impossible target to achive,you need to try some other tactics like blog commenting and forum posting,which is one of quickest way for generating traffic.
bookmarking site will generate traffic quickly,use digg,mixx,stumbleupon which brings targated audience repetatively.
other social media like twitter and facebook ads will show your site high in SERPS,so generate needed traffic.

Get in the Yahoo directory at http://dir.yahoo.com (it costs 299$/yr. but is worth it) and in the http://www.dmoz.org/ directory (free but hard to get in).

Other small directories won't have much effect except getting your site indexed fast.

Try Other Methods Such As Blog Comments And Article Submition.

yes it will help unless the destination url remains first level folder

i think directory is useful method but its very very slow so keep patience and do other things as well like blog commenting etc
