use digg, put a digg button into your blog or website, this can bring you visitors from digg. Make interesting articles about social media news and post into your website than share them on digg, twitter, facebook, etc

Participating in social networks and Social bookmaking sites needs to build your good reputation. So that your story will be spread throughout the community.
