SEO is always same for all websites no matter what is category of your site.

Are you looking for content or you are looking for process framework to optimize your website?

ok... so maybe is wasn't asking the right question.
is there a technical recommnedation? encoding, code, definitions etc... that will help a site appear better on a mobile phone searches?

Google is google no matter the device. Just optimise and build links as usual.

search is search is search is search!

It does NOT matter what technology you are using to search with.

Search engines do NOT "think";

"Oh errm, Blackberry user, what should we show them?,
"Aha Nokia obviously they want something different",
"Aww $4!| an IPhone! Quick, find the 'Kewl" pages to show",
"Sony Eriksonn. They must be looking for music downloads"

You can definitely create a separate site for mobile platform based on the os like symbian, blackberry or iphone. Definitely not one for each of them.

what do you mean?
aren't they all present the information the same way? (same pages - same encoding)?
