Twitter & Indexing

I've read that Twitter can get your site or Web 2.0 properties indexed if you post it. Personally, I don't believe it. Has anyone heard this???

Uhmm...I'm not sure if posting a link in Twitter does that. All I know is that you can generate traffic from it.

I think twitter can give you more visitors , but , your content should attract visitors

I don't think so, but I'm sure that link in stumbleupon will let your site index in less than 24 hours.

It's just like any other link! If the SEs find it and index it, they may/will eventually index the link target URI.

Twitter is one social networking site and link in twitter is nofollow. As mate says it generates traffic to your site only. If you want to index your site than it not going to help.

Twitter is the most popular social networkings now a days as well as facebook, and I think both social networkings can drive traffic through your websites..

Links posted on twitter are nofollow and redirected.. So there is now way it can be used to index your site's pages. It may serve your site traffic but definitely not backlinks and/or way of getting your site's pages indexed.

True through twitter you can increase traffic but not rank on your site. even if everytime u post your site link on twitter, u will be suspected as a spamer. No will follow u or interested in your tweets.

So tweet regularly, participate in trendy topics, talk about latest topics. While doing this u can promote your site...
