It depends upon from which site you are getting a backlink,if you are getting a link from quality sites,sure there is effective improvement in your PR..

i think now link exchange is not so strong. Now Google give low point to link exchange.........

Instead of exchanging links, lots of site owners forward the unsolicited emails to Google.The best links are not paid, or exchanged after out-of-the-blue emails–the best links are earned and given by choice.

One must be very picky about one's site selection and keeping the content related to your site is a must.

And it can help u with the link popularity!

Link exchanges means reciprocal linking and as far as SEO is concerned, one way links are far superior in quality compared to reciprocal linking because the importance of reciprocal links are discounted by all the major search engines.

Reciprocal links don't do much good nowadays as far as getting by google as concerned. But if you can get a high traffic site to place your link in strategic places, that will be great.

Chances are you'll have to pay for those kind of placement though.

One pitfall of the link exchange is the why the site has high PR, good traffic and in your nich linkexchange to U in the first place???

Link Exchange is good way for some time but long time they are not good for SEO.

I think that a link exchange still helps a bit. I think if it is done properly it can help with traffic as well.

I think you should concentrate on building good quality one way dofollow links before link exchanging.

Reciprocal link exchanging isn't as powerful as it use to be. It is however still really popular.

No one really knows for sure. The best piece of advice I've gotten regarding this topic.

Do it in moderation, only with High Quality Relevant sites and experiment to see what works for you. But of course not with your bread and butter.

Honestly, I hate Link exchange before, cause it requires lot of effort searching, emailing and adding Link partners at your page.

But I read article recommending Link Exchange, then I just conclude to my self that we really need to exert effort for us to gain great results.

I think before anything else, you should try to make sure that the site you're having link exchange with is relevant to yours and with a high PG of course in order to really gain benefits from it. Otherwise its pretty much useless.
