Backlinks from Google/Yahoo

Hi all,

What is the difference between a backlink from google and a backlink from yahoo? Will google ever rank you high if you just have Yahoo links? Does google rank you high based on the amount and quality of "google links" only? I noticed most of sites are barely showing backlinks in google and tons in yahoo.

You have backlinks from both it is just that Gooogle does not like to report them unless you sign up for webmaster tools.

You DO NOT have backlinks from Yahoo or Google. What you have is some backlinks that the various SEs have found on pages that have been index and has then chosen to show you a selection of those links.

It does NOT mean that those links are of any "value" to the SE in question, and it does NOT mean the links that are shown will be sending qualified visitors.

Counting links that SEs show you is easily the second most useless thing you could be doing.

Google display random sample of your backlinks while yahoo count most of your backlinks that's why you are getting higher counts of backlinks in yahoo.

Hi,

As i know google count only one links from one IP but yahoo count about all links does not matter links are coming from same or different IP thats why yahoo show more backlinks than google.

Yahoo reads ALL backlinks, whether they are nofollow or dofollow. Google, on the other hand, doesn't. It only identifies dofollow BLs.

Its Just that they have got Indexed For a tag or catagory,
Links there could be useful but not much

Google DOES read the nofollow links that they find, and they do crawl these links, however, whether they count them in their algorithm is still in question. The consensus answer is no, they don't count nofollow links.

yahoo counts nofollow links while google don't even inner pages from your website yahoo counts google don't.

There is no specific backlinks for google and for yahoo at all. The reason why they don't show the same result is that Google has more restrictions on backlinks than yahoo.

Backlink from yahoo is more important than google. But yahoo doesnot follow itself. I have a website is listed in yahoo directory, but it doesnot search it in its own search results. Google gives it more rank. google's directory is from dmoz.

Google does take into account a backlink regardless if it's nofollow or not. A simple link:YOURSITEHERE will show the true backlinks Google is showing for you.

Google and Yahoo are totally different search engines and they have varying algorithms. Yahoo counts links even if they are nofollow. Google, on the other hand, only counts dofollow links.

Google and Yahoo are different search engines ,Yahoo counts all backlinks . Google only counts relevance backlinks.

I think yahoo consider all links where ever you post your link. But google consider only dofollow backllinks. Means if you check the result for one site than it will be difference for backlink. Also both search engine work on different algorithm.

Google and Yahoo reads all backlinks to your site. If you are signed up to googles webmaster tools, you'll see all of the incoming links to your site, doesn;t matter if you have 200 links from the same IP, you'll still see them.

Both google and yahoo keep records of all backlinks. But google does not report all links. Also google only includes do-follow links in their ranking algorithm and yahoo includes all.

google and yahoo not consider on nofollow backllinks.nofollow backllinks is not useful for both SE.
