Make use of Online forums and online communities.
The very interesting thing about forums and online communities is that they are highly targeted. You can get a group that fits into the certain demographic that you are looking for. You can discuss about lots of things about the niche that you represent or offer.
Another great advantage is that you know what you are getting into and you will be prepared.

Alright, well I advertise on forums like Devshed, this forum, htmlforums.com, and others but get nothing. A lot of prospective customers, but no one really new ever. I feel like it's something on my site that's lacking.

In english?
I mean I'm getting anywhere from 1-10 hits per day, never any more. I have tons of people reading forum posts, I have my URL in my signature everywhere, I really don't know what the major problem is.

Promote your site, one is on social networking sites where you could add a lot of friends and socialize as much as possible to attract them to actually visit your site. =)

Targeted traffic, not friends visiting. If you've read the thread, I've tried social networking and whatnot.

If you have the money to spend, you should opt for Adwords and other similar PPC campaigns. That'll surely boost your site traffic. Take advantage of social networking sites too like Facebook and Myspace.

I'd suggest you hire a professional link builder who could help you increase your website's traffic. Based from my own experience, the following are effective LB strategies:
-blog commenting
-forum posting
-social bookmarking
-article submission
Hope it helps! Goodluck

Content is King - You need to consistently write great content on your blog or website. The posts that you make need to be worth reading and have some impact on the visitor.
If I am visiting your website for the first time, I want to be impressed and bookmark your website so I return to see what else you compose.

It's a web hosting company... It's not a blog site. I need useful input here, not buzzwords.

social book marking etc all the above is good, remember to add back links naturally or the alarm bells at Google go up and you go into the "sandbox"

The only way to increase traffic is to rank on first page of google for most popular keywords in your niche.

Alright, there are now three pages of buzzwords, and no help whatsoever. How about tell me what I'm supposed to do specifically, rather than just Googling something and pasting the first word you see? I've asked questions, and no one's answered anything at all, just repeating things everyone else says. I.E. - Backlinks, blog submissions, forum posts... etc.
Backlinks from where?
Blog submissions... Ok, what do I write about?
How do I make Twitter and whatnot get me targeted traffic?
I post in forums, and I gave an example of what I post, no one commented on that...

The problem is, forums are now full of "experts" where the primary goal is lots and lots of junk traffic that will arrive and click on one of the adverts.
There is little or no interest in driving sales or genuine enquiries, so the junk traffic from "Social Bookmarking/Media", Sig link spam, blog comment spam will do.
Driving qualified visitors is a "no no" as they probably won't click on yet another advert.
Hosting is a cut throat business so doing the same as the rest (junk "articles" et al) isn't going to have any real impact, it's all pretty blase now and host co A is much like host co C. Somebody being a little different may just stand out.
Instead of trying to answer questions and hope people click the sig link because it seems you know what you are doing, try asking what people want from their hosting provider, make it look like you "care" about your (potential) customers. Most of them will be/are hacked off with ridiculous claims and nonsense offers that are actually worthless, so somebody asking their opinion might just give you an edge.

Well my niche is managed hosting, for everything. Most hosts don't offer managed hosting for the little shared plans. My issue is getting people to the site, nothing I'm doing is working.

Have u ever tried to use Viral Marketing.
Viral marketing allows you to spread the word about your company and product without any costs or if ever low costs only.
This is a marketing method that can be quite sneaky; you can attach your company’s name, product or link to a certain media such as a funny video, entertaining game, an interesting article or a gossip or buzz.
With this method, people get infected with the creativity and entertainment of the medium that they will pass it on to many people.
