Is it me or is Google taking longer to track links?

Hi Everyone,

We've had Google's new Webmaster Tools for a few weeks now and I don't know about anyone else but I'm noticing that where backlinks used to get updated weekly, mine have only been updated once since the changeover.

Anyone else notice this happening?

Yeah, my links haven't updated. I actually lost links when they changed it to the new version. I don't know what the problem is, but it's pretty sad how long it takes for it to update. Google does it on purpose probably. They want you to think that you're not getting backlinks.

I have just started using the Webmaster Tools to index my pages ! (dur) I wish I had found it before. But I have noticed that they have not indexed one page. 6 out of 7 done. But they have not reported any problems, so I can't see any reason why ! I am writing to see if they will index this page.

Normally i noticed that backlink status are updated when google updates are done means in every 2-3 months backlink status updates is done.

try to gather more links then wait for the next backlink update..

One of my sites lost over 500 links in the changeover as well. Very annoying.

Previously I used to see links changing on an almost weekly basis, and now, it seems like never...

This is what happens when a company has a total monopoly over the market...

I don't see much difference in my links. Maybe some of google's data are lost. Or maybe they are changing something in order to adopt to something new. (on other searcg engines) :-(

I think its your link building strategy that is not working well.. Make sure that you do link building regularly since there are those that do not get thrawled.. Thus, the more backlinks created, the better..

Thanks but my link building strategy is fine, I'm constantly adding links... still waiting for webmaster tools to update though... it's taking forever...
