You could also try: spyfu.com

This will give you some ideas on what your competitors are doing and explore (dig down) further.

Jitendraag gave you a good solution. With Google Adwords tool, you can evaluate the keywords in terms of traffic and competition. I see, there are still many good choices for you to choose. You can have a check. Good luck!

You need to use keyword research tool like google adwords, keyword discovery and word tracker. And you have to focus also on how many competitors of your site using that keyword.

well, aside from using keyword research tool, some would like to take a peek at their competitors keywords... well, I have to admit that I do make use of this activity as well, it kinda gives you a pretty good idea on which keywords are competitive and which are not, of course that is after sorting out a keyword list of your own. I sometimes use tools like compete.com for this one.

You can research keywords in Google keyword tool. If you want to rank well in Google, you should use its own data. It can also give you lots of information about your competition and how well they do. Those information can give you a hint on what to do on your own to grab high rankings.

You should also start by having pages from well-established web2.0 sites like hubpages, squidoo, and scribd and point the articles to your site. That would spike the traffic shortly.

In addition, use your keywords to write articles and submit them to article directories for more targeted traffic.

You have just launched your site then write a press release and publish it. You can notify lots of people that your site exist.
