At some point I still believe that it's still important

But if the traffic and sales doesn't go up even with a high PR site, the PR doesn't really give that much value What I've learned most is to keep building 'quality one-way links' so that my keywords will rank high in SERP, giving me more traffic (an possibly sales).

Not if you're not in G. And if you have no PR, you're not likely to be ranked in G. So unfortunately, it is very important.....and it should just die since it's the most flawed thing in the history of the internet.

PR is not the only factor in ranking. I have seen few PR 0 site beating PR 3 sites. PR becomes important if you are selling links or advertising space.

according to google:

PageRank Technology: PageRank reflects our view of the importance of web pages by considering more than 500 million variables and 2 billion terms. Pages that we believe are important pages receive a higher PageRank and are more likely to appear at the top of the search results.

lets just say its still a part of the whole process..

In some ways, for me it is still important.

What the little green bar says is important to link sellers. Also, it's one of the factors taken into account by people who buy websites.

Maybe the article would have been better titled "Is PR important in ranking".

Im sorry you dont have a clue on what your talking about. I have many adult sites with PR 0 that rank on the first page and even the first listing on google for really hard adult words. It does not affect my traffic or my sales, i make a good amount off of them.
The only thing PR does for you is lets you sell your links to morons that care about PR..

PR is required only when you do link exchanging or link building.

For me PR is just a guide. High PR doesnt guarantee that the site will rank well on the SERP's. Just focus on building high quality and relevant links to your site and all will be well.

It may not be relevant in other search engines but it is a very useful tool for your site to have high rankings in Google results. It can also serve as a relevant link from other sites pointing to yours.

Agreed. it's definitely a part of the generation of SERPs, albeit one falling in importance. It's still a good indication of how authoratative Google views your site.

what u learned is correct....and carry on urs work

Page Rank is important for link exchange.if any one want to make link exchange with you then the person will see your PR first.

Interesting article - clearly its all about traffic. but I have to say i always assumed pagerank was an indication of success

I don't believe that PageRank is not important, i think that article is wrong.

well... for newbies at doesn't have importance., for me it has coz it indicates my site's quality., and off course to make its price increase.

i think page rank is important. but not for traffic, for link exchange and trade link. if you have a higher PR website, you may even sell backlinks or can exchange high PR backlinks

I dont agree with you as the pagerank is important factor in SEO.
