I was wondering if there is a list somewhere of current SEO techniques that are working.

I have gathered everything I could find on SEO and it appears that the only techniques that are really efficient these days are:

1) Incoming links : preferably of quality or of related topics. Press releases, articles, etc. Registering on certain specialized directories, or Yahoo, etc.

2) Managing your content well, or simply put not pissing off search engines (in this case it's more of a what not to do, such as duplicating your content, cloaking, etc.)

Any thoughts?

Not sure if there is a list of techniques that are guaranteed to work but in general, start from the bottom and work your way up. What i'd do:


1.Optimize Page Content.
2.Optimize Page Title, & Descriptions (unique for each page)
3.Submit URL to dmoz, google, yahoo, msn & local directories in your area.
4.Link Building, Try get as many affiliates as possible, setup a page with a links to other sites and then contact them and ask would they consider do the same for you.
5. Update the site regularly, Search engines notice changes in content.

So again... if I read correctly, it's only 1) incoming links 2) good content, well managed and well put.

I must agree with this simply google prioritize more on content!

create content for your visitors, always think for your visitors NOT on how you will rank fast.

I would agree on content and inbound links. Get some authoritative inbound links with good anchor text, and write some unique keyword rich content with your keywords in URL, title and within the content.

Try to make more backlink.
And write more quaility content.

The problem is getting quality back-links in general

You are wrong again. Wow I think people in charge of Webmaster-Talk.com should look into removing you as a moderator. I personally think this affects the community as they have a person that is giving false and misleading advice to readers.
