I don't think it's a major loss - that quotes site is to me a bit of an abomination. Google gladly funds you and millions like you, for putting faff, repetitive faff at that, into the web for no good reason.
I had a totally decent site up, helping indebted people reduce their stress levels significantly by enabling them to understand that aspects of law which means most threatening letters from creditors can be treated as bravado (as long as one is responsible and fulfils any real legal obligations, which are very minimal). I bought adwords users, took about 3 hits at 4p to produce adequate usage for one hit to go out again to adsense and earn me 20p to a few quid, depending.
Google smartpriced me, for a whole month, struggling on every keyword i bought to prevent me from using the "right" advertisers (on my adsense-rich page) - in the end since they could not minimize my profit, they banned me "for being a risk" - I have triple-checked and they deny that they did it because of my profit but said that the department who could tell me what exact risk I posed didn't take calls and that I should email them. I did and the overall situation is they refuse to tell me why specifically I am a risk - something which is against the law and TOS but I let it lie because morally I'm bigger than they are and the loss of that revenue strangely doesn't make me feel any less secure than i felt at any stage.
My site was high quality, produced me a good profit, and helped lots of people either find better loans to help them or understand the idea of staying out of debt better. More of them, clearly, were interested in learning about fighting debt than going off to find a loan provider. So all in all I was actually doing a really good thing.
They removed ME and yet 1000 arse-sites with famous John Wayne quotes get google income daily.
If there are any multi-million-dollar investors here - note: is google's behaviour that of a business with a big future? Think about it.
