OK, this is a serious question :/

I just wrote an article for my site. It's about 460 words long and at the end it has a plug to my website of course. Now, I've contacted a whole ton of "big" SOHO/SB blogs to see if at least one of them will post my article in their blog (it's about internet faxing and how it's good for the environment and saves money at the same time... yada yada lol).

The problem is I've received several requests for the article... Which now I don't know what to do... There are only so many ways I can write the article itself... I mean internet faxing isn't that interesting... what I wanted obviously was the links for SEO.

If I send everyone the same article and they all post it, will the duplicate content counter my efforts and get all the links ignored by search engines?

Or should I have them all post the article anyways?

Hope you guys can shed some insight on this because I was also considering sending it to ezinearticles.com- I don't want this to go to waste because I HATE WRITING lol.

Also, while you're reading this, I'm looking to hire a top-notch writer

here are some quick changes. I haven't look at it deeply but:
you have the common problem of having 2 versions of your website (www. and no www.) SEs see that as 2 different websites so you are splitting your SEO effort.
you have different version of your home page:
http://www. faxtoemailguide.com/index.php

http:// faxtoemailguide.com/index.php
http:// faxtoemailguide.com

Same thing, you are splitting your SEO efforts.

Set up a 301 redirect to only one of them. I would pick http://www. faxtoemailguide.com but that's just my personal choice. It won't change anything in terms of SEO but I find it more user friendly.

you have a couple of little mistakes:
multiple h1 and h3 headers and no h2.
your image attribute is not filled.

I see that your website is only 2 months old.

The other thing you have to consider is promote your website not for rankings but for relevant traffic. Try to build relevant link within your niche.
You could maybe start a facebook page, a squidoo lens, write article and submit to article directories. Directories in general can be a waste of time but they can also bring you good traffic. Make your pick.

I would also add google analytics code and see how users interact with your website. There are some good features in the google webmaster tool as well.

Anyway, that's a start. As i said, your website is new, be patient, promote it in every way you can think of. You seem pationate about it so I don't see why you won't succeed.

I've added a 301 redirect for the second page, and I'll be fixing the image alt tags and header tags tonight.

I've also gone ahead and made a small squidoo lens which I've never done before and added that article... What I don't get, is how that will help me if all the links back to my site are rel=nofollow?

Or- are they supposed just get internal traffic and not affect serps?

This is basically the one site I intend to pour everything I have into- hopefully it will be the one that actually works (my past ones I have given up on, admittedly way too early). This site I have already put lots of time into and intent to put lots more in so I'm going from there- I've had a really good response from the companies that I'm working with- srfax.com, faxitnice.com and gofaxer.com are already putting up links back to my site (those should be decent authoritive backlinks, right?), with many more down the tube.

Hey, just to add to your original question, I would reccomend permalinking your article every time it is submitted somewhere. This tells Google (and the user) where the content originated from, and will go a long way towards making sure that the page the article is published on on your site won't end up in the supplemental index for duplicate content.

Squidoo links are not "nofollow". Facebooks are. Those pages are more usefull to drive traffic to your page. Squidoo allows you to put links in it. They are easy to start and take no time so you might as well. There are a lot of articles out there to help you with that.

That's when other tools than SEs come in the pictures. You don't have to wait for your website to rank high in SEs. Write on your blog more often, promote your blog and website which ever way you can think of. (sig link in forums, put a link on your email signature with a little catchy phrase about your website or your blog, write articles and submit them to as many places as you can, have other people use your articles and point to your site. (make sure they don't say who wrote it and provide you a link that works), join groups talking about the environment, (on facebook, yahoo, linked in etc...), post RELEVANT comments no blogs and articles in your niche. Try to join forums related to your activity. Possibilities are pretty much endless!

You should also promote your website offline. talk about it to as many people as you can. I was gonna say end out flyers but for someone who tries to save paper, it might not get the message accross.
Go to events, join networking groups (BNI etc...)

You could start a newsletter. It's a good way to show that internet can save paper (vs traditional direct mail marketing).

Perfect! Wonderful! Couldn't be better! What you have is a baseline.

The analytics tools aren't there for you to say "Wow! I got 1,000!" They're a way for you to measure what's working and what isn't, so you can continue things that are successful, and try something else where marketing tactics fail. So that if you have 1,000 today, you should have 1,010 tomorrow and 1,025 the next day. Absolute numbers (which are currently very low in your case) mean very little without context - what's important is they should be growing.

And, of course, what's most important is your bottom line. If you get 1 visitor who's an eccentric millionaire, that's better than 1 million traffic exchange visitors.

Finally got around to addressing the header tag issues... And I rewrote and reorganized the whole index page to make it more appealing and direct traffic flow the right way (at least I think so).

I was trying to set up the index.php redirection to /, but I can't figure out how to do it properly... My site uses Joomla and everything I have tried so far makes any links that used to use index.php?blah=blah won't work anymore if I have it redirect... How can I fix that? Google shows it has index.php?= pages in it's index... :/

On the flip-side, my site was bumped up to PR2... not like that matters at the moment. Google shows 10 inbound links now, but none of them are the ones I wanted to see show up...

I have links pointing in from www.srfax.com, www.faxage.com, and www.faxitnice.com, and soon www.gofaxer.com. The thing though is, those all point to different pages (their own review pages on the site) and I was wondering... are they going to contribute anything at all to my serp for the main page (and others) or not? Are they just a waste of a link basically? Those are obviously very authorative links (despite their low PR) since they have lots of links going in to them from the proper community sites, but I was really hoping they would be a major source of serps for my main page... Hope you could clear up that question for me...
