Dear friends,

I have one issue which is quite not understandable to me, I have this http://www.124diary.com this site was optimized on "Online diary" keyword and it was listing over 2 result on first page couple weeks ago for past year or so.

One morning i noticed low traffic and eventually found out the reason was i lost SERP. I am now listed to either to last result on 1 page or on second page 1 result.

I need to inquire how can i improve and get back to lost postion.
I would also like to know what might have caused this sudden change over night. I did not change any thing which could be the reason behind it.
kindly provide me your suggestions and tips to improve the situation.

Kind regards
Joey

I find you in the 2nd page.

You need to get some more links to your site, from what I see your competition has alot more.

I would try optimizing your homepage a bit more for the term 'online diary'

you only have the term 'online diary' mentioned twice on your homepage, I would add it in there a few more time, and also use a header tag at the top stating that your site is an online diary.

You may also find it useful to condense the homepage down slightly.

If you're already on either the first or second page, I wouldn't go crazy in making wholesale changes to your actual site. When you make changes, only make one or very few at a time and then wait a week or two to see what effect they have on your position. Then, based on the result, make some more changes. Rinse, repeat. As for specific SEO advice for your site, I'd suggest using header tags (<h1>, <h2>, etc) for your headings rather than just putting them in a <b>. I'd also highly recommend proofreading your page because your top navigation has some spelling errors and I'd be willing to bet that there are more down below.

Thanks for your reply. I have made few changes in meta description, head, and keywords etc. I am waitng for any change in SERP which might accur in some time.

Thanks for notifying me about some spelling mistakes.

I am little worried to lose top place to come to second page. That descrease my site traffic big time so i am little concern about that.

I think a big thing is not to panic. If you visit the Google help boards, a lot of people will see their sites drop (sometimes disappear) in the results page without them making any changes. A week or two later, they're back up where they were before. You have to remember also that Google is constantly trying to improve their product, so when they make tweaks, it can affect some sites in an adverse way. I'm not totally sure, but I'd also suspect that at times some of the changes are automated.

Link building shouldn't hurt your site, but for on-site optimization, if you're worried about your ranking, test one thing at a time and give Google enough time to index the changes before changing something else. You might hear different advice (a lot of it hype and buzzwords) from others, but Search Engine Optimization can be boiled down to one word: testing.

Testing isn't as sexy or easy as some of the other "fixes" might be, but it's what you need to do if you're serious about succeeding.

Just keep an eye on your stats, as one keyword drops another might be taking over, so try optimizing other pages to gain traffic from the search engines.
