What's your method?

I tend to spend a lot of time looking for dofollow blog while checking the PR of the post in my toolbar. When I find one that fits I write a good informative comment and post away.

Is there an easier way to find high quality links? Trying to get my hd wallpapers site ranking a little better

You might want to employ social media to get noticed. Personally, I love wallpaper sites so I just submitted it to StumbleUpon. I'm surprised that nobody else had!

I think that you need to think outside the box, and not only focus on pure link building. Other tactics work just as well, and social media a big love of mine (see my sig) because it really helps users make the most of their content with natural promotion instead of begging and pleading for someone to take 5 minutes and answer your emails that you've spent months working on.

In other words, to me, link building < social media. Totally. Social media often yields natural links, which is far better than asking for them. I can't tell you how many link exchange emails I receive daily that it's just something I barely pay attention to nowadays. SMO is the way to go.

George I wouldn't seek out links based solely on PR. One of the best ways to build links in general, though is to network and build relationships with other people in your industry. It's just human nature to help people we know more than people we don't know. If network with people they usually start paying more attention to you and link to you naturally.

Social media is good for building relationships with people like Tamar said.

Another way to get links is to offer content to sites where you'd like a link. Not every site will accept content from you sight unseen, but if you spend time commenting on blogs in your industry and then after a time pitch the idea of writing a guest post you can get some good links.

You can also create content on your site that other sites on your topic would want to link to. Say there's a site you want a link from. You could spend time understanding the kind of content the site links to and create similar content. To get the site owner's attention you could link to them in your content or even email them. People email me a link to their content every so often. Much of the time it's useless and the email is quickly deleted. But sometimes I can tell the person took the time to know what I usually write about and the link they send is something I think my readers will find interesting. Most of the time I end up linking to it.
