Questions on blogs commenting

I leave comments in do-follow blogs using my name as the link anchor. I found that if I use the keyword in the "name" field, my comment is a blatant advertising even if what I comment about is completely relevant to the post. Leaving a signature and a link after the comment is also a candidate for deletion.

So my questions are:
- Do I still get link juice even if the anchor title is a name?
- I know it is useless for ranking in the SERPs but does it help a little with generating PRs?

Any advice/explanation would be deeply appreciated. And how do you do blogs commenting?

Dear

In my point of view it's another name of spam so please don't put your site link in html way, you can put your domain name in text way. With this process you can get good back links and it will be good for your site or blog

if you are leaving comments that are totally related then just put a direct link and you wont have to worry about it. people can see links so if your name is a link they are still going to view it as spam but if it is related to the content and you put a direct URL then it will just look like a reference and most webmasters and bloggers shouldn't have a problem with that.

I never use a keyword in the namefield when commenting on blogs. I can imagine the blog owner being anoyed at the people commenting as "SEO consultant" or whatever keyword. It just shows you're only commenting to get a link no matter how relevant your comment might be to the topic. Also I have noticed a lot of blogowners are already warning people upfront to not use keywords or the comment might be deleted.
Save the keywords for article submissions, forum sigs, internally on your site etc.

Same here I never used keywords as my name, there is a certain text box where you can put your link.

Yes only enter full path of URL with the comment and your name. It is a good way to comment and it will create no any problem for your website.

Who knows?

Some links count, many many more don't.

I keep saying this, and one day it will start to sink in.

Links are advertising NOT optimising

Nice one chris.

People seem to be missing the point of commenting on blogs.

I comment on many blogs, and I add my website, so if people think they want to know more from me they can find me, but i don't even think about the 'link juice' etc.

If you comment for links then you are making your first mistake there, comment for interest and write meaningful comments.

I know that anyone that comments in my blog with keywords for a name gets canned every time. If it's followed with something like "nice site i like it thx" it's just a waste of everyone's time..

Yeah, you're probably right. Link building shouldn't be conned as one of off-page OPTIMIZATION? I guess when you throw out and distribute the link to your site, you are actually advertising.

Thanks for all your comments.
