About backlink

Hi guys,

Suppose you have a PR3 site looking for backlinks.

I wonder, do you know which one is viewed as more important in link building:

> Having a backlink from a PR4 site, but different topic

OR

> Having a backlink from PR2 site, but similar topic?

I have no idea whatsoever on this.

Any ideas?

Which one is more likely to drive traffic to your site?? Which one is more likely to drive traffic that will convert??

That's the link you want if you can't have both..

both will be read but they give more points to relevant site.

Always theme based links are useful. So PR2 will be the best choice as compare to PR4 non-theme related links.

The PR 2 which is related to mine of course.. Because Id go for I think it will going to help my readers as well as for the searchers..

I think relevancy should be consider first...A link with pr4 could be better that a link with pr2..but if it is not thematic to your website..then it is not going to help you a lot ..mainly in terms of quality traffic..

You are wrong here. Theme based link will be beneficial if it has only PR2. the PR4 will be the useless and time wasting if not theme based.

two views here - I still can't decide myself which one is the way to go :P

To respond to davin, I prioritise traffic over rank.

Of course, the aim is being conversion rate of those incoming traffic.

I agree with you. I rather choose PR2 that is similar with my content. This will be beneficial for some visitors for more useful resources, thus helping the site to drive more free traffic

It's not about how much PR does the other website has... It's about theme building. Building links with your related niche, is the best thing that you can do. Forget about PR because when you build the right neighbours, PR will be coming after you.
