Fresh, rich content is not only a great way to get traffic but it is essential to maintaining it.

Also, begin building relationships with other bloggers by commenting on their posts, etc. After you show support, you may be able to ask for a link to your blog.

A great way to get lots of traffic is to give away something free. This is often referred to as 'link bait'. You can perhaps give away an ebook or free report.

Try searching for "Tag and Ping" in Google too.

I will give you three really powerful ways

1) Forums where desparate buyers in your niche hang out..help them and they will buy from you.

2) Youtube vids. Tests I have done confirm that you should give really good content, and promote your website down the bottome in a black box with white writing while the video is playing.

3) Use articles, but make sure you seo them properly. They wont bring heaps of traffic short term...but long term i thinjk you can't beat them. Oh and post to places like ezinearticles and goarticles they are the best.

You should get free baclinks to your website. You can get relevant blogs to post a friendly link to by using a free tool called commenthut. This is very good for getting backlinks to your website.

I was going to say that but another way is to use trackbacks and for people who don't know how to find other blogs to trackback, all you have to do is go to Google and type the keywords of your article and the word "trackback" to find other blog posts on a simiar subject and ping those. That is the best way to do it without being a spammer because you are actually pinging related articles.

If you do it spammy, no blog owner will approve the trackback (or pingback) but if you do it well, you will reap lots of extra traffic.

Traffic you can get in a multitude of ways:

1) add comments to blogs

2) forum signature links

3) articles

4) you can buy traffic don't forget- it's something like $20-$30 for 10,000 visitors
-- this is one strategy making people some cash at the moment - create a site in a hot, but general area, say ... loans .. put Google Adsense all around and run traffic through it.

5) good SE rankings will also get you loads of traffic (and very targeted)

6) directories submissions and tagclouds

7) write a free ebook

8) stumbleupon and other social stuff I don't know if these are useful. One of our sites got stumbled and we had 750 visitors in 24 hours. Not one of them clicked an ad! and then as quick as they arrived they also went away.

9) craig's list is also good

10) gumtree too

11) add a blog to your site.
- register it at technorati
- get it on feedburner to disperse your RSS better

12) review a good product/book/service on your blog

I would check what copyright is on the book and write to the authors to make sure that it was OK to do this.

Every time it comes near 11, it slips back to 15 and above.
