How do I get better ranking?

I have an older page on my site that does not get good ranking. How can I move it up in the SERPs. My site is a retail site so I don't want to get inbound links in the classic way. I do want to get it to rank well for it's main keyword.

Write articles and include links in the author bio section. Add your site in your forum signatures. Create discounts / offers for linkback opportunity. Good Luck

Write Articles with your main keywords. I Believe on it too.

While being assertive on the off-page factors, make your on-page factors (meta's, content, alts, anchors...) critically optimized.

Add good and unique content and start on page and off page optimization to get ranking in search engines.
