Where do you get most of the hits to your website from, I am looking for websites that I can place links on and get the most out of them.

I would think this would vary greatly depending on the nature of your site. Also, I'm somewhat confused as to what you are asking.. Are you referring to SEs, domains, directories?... If you are looking to build your inbound links, then I would stick to those sites that are relevant to what you're "selling".

At the moment I get more clicks from my JVers, because I am sharing a good tool for free and JVers can heat their bases with good offer.

But now I am growing on Google traffic too, this is thanks to good SERPs for my keywords:

That is why, bigger part of my traffic is thanks to JV, but a significant, and growing part - SEO.


And the issue about relevancy is really tricky. I can prove that if a *trusted* site links to your site, this trusted site can be absolutely irrelevant and still Google will look very nice on this link. I know it sounds shocking when the rest of the community is saying 'only relevant sites, only relevant sites' - but I can prove my words.

P.S. Irrelevancy is ok only with trusted sites, if you can many irrelevant links from average sites that are not included to Google's elite - you will have problems. So, be careful.

Google and Yahoo. Posting in forums with a sig (below) has done quite a bit. The best is getting mentioned in blogs.

31.02% from Google
9.24% from Yahoo

The rest are other links including direct.

Most of mine come from repeat visits and word of mouth.

And quit saying "hits", this isn't 1994.

Once site is mainly search engine traffic, 90% of it being google
Another site is 80% links from other sites that are linking to my content.

use ppc for better targeted., also myspace and also viral marketing.

that works like a charm for me.

I actually think I get a lot of hits from my sig links, I can't remember what the most is though..

It's pretty much all google here. I also get a fair amount of traffic from CSS galleries.

I get 90% of my traffic from the Google. My signature links in another forum also attracts hundreds of visits per month. SEO is the first thing to look at when one wants to attract traffic
