Adwords helpful?

ok soon im gonna be launching a new site and i was wondering if adwords has really helped anyone get alot of extra traffic?

It will surely help you.
Try to add 2000Keywords if you are just trying to get traffic.
Iam currently getting a lot @ 0.01$/visitor

Can you set the rate per click from your own ads? I was thinking of doing the same, but never really got into it.

Yes since you pay you can get them at you own rates.

Also if you dont have any accounts i can give you some promo codes for cheaper prices for both Adwords & Overture.

They would probably be helpful if you have some keywords that aren't terribly common, but common ones you'd probably be paying more than is worth it.

Why not then advertise on adwords for content, ie the ads appear on the publisher sites, and this is far over very cheap.

I heard someone paid like 3000 a month on adwords.. godd thats too much for me
