Tell me about your experiences with adsense. Were they good, bad?

Well a friend of mine got banned from them for "invalid clicks" when as far as he knew his clicks were fine. Lost some 300-odd dollars that way.

I had some good time and bad times with Google AdSense. It takes so much time and effort to rearrange your ads placement to fit your site. I can tell you that AdSense is not stable. One day you can get $1, then $20, or $50. Then it jumps back to $2. I have tried placing images next to ads, white background, different colors one, sneaky ones, basically every legal spot I can think of. The best ads placement is your own placement, each site is different. If you try to copy the same as other its highly unlikely it is going to work out.
