Surprisingly, I've searched on MSN before and it brought up results that Google did not find. Anyone have a similar experience with MSN?

MSN is supposed to be much better than Google. A lot of the time I find their results are more of the same pages of a certain site though (ie. http://www.example.com/ and http://www.example.com/site2). Not very useful, it means sifting through a bunch of useless information!

MSN Shows all the Backlinks
Yahoo shows an average
and google shows the Minimum because the google Backlinks count is updated every 3-4 Months and the Last one was on Dec26 th 2005

Definitely the algorithm differs from one search engine to another. So if you can't find what you're looking for in one search engine, try it with other search engines.

I have noticed that too, my sites first showed up in MSN and only after that in google. I tend to admire msn more also for placing my site about the laurel wreath in the first (!!!) place in the results for keywords, and not 3rd like google.

on the other hand how occurate msn is? if i type "laurel wreath" in msn, it says: Page 1 of 127,051 results containing laurel wreath
if i type the same in google, it says: Results 1 - 10 of about 415,000 for laurel wreath.
so obviously google's results are more comprehensive and have 4 times more sites crawled and cached, i assume.

I tend to find rank in MSN more better then Google, in term of keywords, it all depends on the data and how each search engine ranks them.

MSN is updated more often, that's true, and their lack of sites may be attributeed to the fact that they are fairly new, and not too popular yet. Someday though, maybe!

Your sites show up easier in msn, because google has a larger amount of results because of its popularity, your site's aren't THAT easy to be seen.

Ya msn is quite better, especially the same websites just showing different pages. But google gives me nice results too, I do try to search on msn too to find better results.

That never happened to me before because I always had better success with using Google as my search engine. I tried others like msn, yahoo, and ask jeeves.
