Right now I'm at $1,000 - $5,000/month in online sales.

I need to increase this income as I have someone working with me too, and we're scrapping with what we have left.

I would do anything to raise that... I would especially like ideas from dave and Lee...

If you're doing online sales, I'd like an idea.

Thanks

Ok first of all I sell XtraFile File Hosting Software and a few turnkey stuff... on random urls.

The main url is xtrafile.com, pretty simple name.

We have it in directories, post it in forums, buy links, and get indexed by google.

Still, we only get the minimal amount...

Have you researched how much interest there is in the product? I didn't see your site in the first 5 SERPs on Google for "file hosting script", but a few minutes on Overture's keyword selector also shows me that there aren't many searches being done for this type of product.

Perhaps if you expanded into creating turnkey websites with this script (and others), you could rank for a few extra keywords and sell a few more licenses. I see a lot of file hosting and image hosting sites get sold on other forums, but not so much the scripts. Right now, community scripts (ala MySpace) are very hot.

Well, your website needs SEO, its not enought to get indexed or buy links here and there to get ranked and receive traffic from search engines, here are a few quick tips:
1- You really need to work on your title tags, placing your website name there doesnt help at all.
2- No h1 tags are used.
3- use alt attributes for images in the img tag.
4- Use your keywords in your internal linking structure.

Sorry for not providing you with more info, but I gotta run.

Thanks. I will try that.

Also any other ways to market on the internet that may bring in more?

You really need a new design. And I still don't know what you're offering? It looks like you're selling a script but why would you charge per month/quarter/year for it? That made me think it's a hosted service.
You should also get a 'buy now' or 'order' link in your main navigation. I could only find an 'order' link at the bottom of your homepage.

But as I said you really need a new design, the current one really isn't appealing.

Ok then. For design, that's something I am actually working on...
We may get it professionally done.

I have enough ideas for the site, thanks everybody.

But my main focus is how to actually get more income, like ideas on other things rather than one software product... like what kind of online businezz should I try to get into?

Well, selling scripts is very profitable because it doesn't cost you anything. Besides development cost/time and hosting.
You should really look at what people are looking for. Like lately there has been a huge arcade/myspace/proxy craze going on. It's a bit late to make an arcade script at this point but you should look for the next big thing.

We are introducing a large amount of new scripts soon, which should be a big market.

Maybe I will look into arcade scripts, as it is still a big market...

Thanks for the ideas.. more of course, appreciated as this is kind of urgent.
