Do you have a sitemap for each of your sites? If so, how did you create it?

Never used it and probably never will .... All pages are indexed just fine without sitemap.

But if you refer for sitemap on the website well that is another story

I am using Sitemaps right now for two of my websites. I believe that it does make a difference of sorts as one of the sites which is MySpace related (yep another one) and has not been advertised has been getting traffic from Google searches. In fact it managed to get to top 20 for a few of the common searches one may do for MySpace which I found interesting - it is one of the top results for finding out how to hide the last login for example.

Sitemaps from my point of view is worth implementing.

It allows spiders to follow all your pages easier.

I think they are useless, because sites with few pages are just all going to get indexed anyway and sites with lots of pages (like powered by a CMS), it's impossible to add all the pages, and spiders will just index them.

I use sitemap in most of my websites. Sitemaps helps search spiders to find our website for any perticular search and scowls in the search results.

It is always a best to use Sitemap. It also helps visitors to know what information that website is providing? What type of services they are providing and etc.....

No I don't get it ... There is no information except url in sitemap ... at least for google ....

And again ... I don't use any sitemaps and still my pages are indexed within one month for every new domain. I got my soccer forum indexed in one week for over 200 pages....without any sitemap.

Its great that your website got listed in one month. It means that your website has enough pages with rich content. This helps the search spiders to scrawl your pages easily.

Even Goolg , Yahoo all big search leaders use sitemap...

Spiders while searching any perticular word on the website, first checks for META Tags, KEy words from contents and URL... Thats Y i mentioned sitemap url links will be usefull..

Some people over on WW report that dropping their sitemaps helped get some pages out of the supplemental results and back into the main index. I dropped the sitemap for one of mine just to test and seemed to recover about 100 pages, but that's not all that much for this site.

I think Haimadan is thinking about the traditional html sitemap but the thread is actually about the XML Google sitemap.

I use them on all my sites and think they're just as important for small, quiet sites as for big busy sites.

I did a big sitemap rant when they first launched and nothing has changed my opinion since then, if anything the stats in that section of the Google site make it all the more relevant (although you can get the stats without a sitemap).

I use a sitemap on my directories so that Google know exactly where the new pages are - even though there may not be a homepage reference to them.

The same goes for articles on a CMS which needs to be indexed but isn't highlighted on the homepage or doesn't stay long enough to guarantee indexing.

I use sitemaps, it can really help to get your pages indexed faster, plus it gives you an extra page to get indexed. Only take a minute to create one.

I have one sitemap for a site of mine that I use to submit to Google Sitemaps (http://google.com/webmasters/sitemaps). That's about it for me, I don't SEO so I never do sitemaps.
