You know, I never did understand exactly what flickr was / is. Could someone explain it to me? The only thing I know about it is that it is Web 2.0... heh

Flickr is a place for photographers to host photos. It isn't really an image host but a photo host and networking site. The majority of your images have to be real photos, not cartoons and things of that nature.

Hmm not sure how useful flickr would be here.

Nice thing is you can tag your photos with multiple things like "sex" and "www.mysite.com" or whatever, but there are HUGE amounts of pictures on flickr, and as far as I know the search thing is just a simple database lookup - there is no ranking etc. Another thing to think about - when people are going to google they are actually looking for sites to visit...people on flickr are looking for pictures not links to sites so you hav to wonder how willing they'd be to look at a site instead.

So it feels like me that it would be more of a shot in the dark as it were rather than a genuine way to drive traffic. Maybe if you upload thuosands of pictures with popular tags you'll generate some traffic, but I am unconvinced.

I'd be intersted to hear about a working stratergy though!

It is for SEO, the promotion is just a bonus. It is just another way to get free backlinks.

Ah yeah I guess. Will flickr allow proper hyperlinks in comments though?
