I have a website http://www.comparecards.in/ . I had made some modifications in its internal pages URL and applied permanent redirect on old urls to updated urls.
Now I want to remove those old URLs from google index as those URLS are still visible in search results. I made a request in my google webmaster tool for URL removal, but it denied my request as there is a condition that without finding 404 status on the pages, it could not remove pages from google index. But I don't want to loose the traffic coming through my old URLs.

Please suggest me is there any way to remove my old URLs from google index without loosing my traffic.

So wait! it takes anything up to 6 months for a redirect to replace the URIs.

as there is a condition that without finding 404 status on the pages, it could not remove pages from google index.

So the answer to this is???

There is a Google webpage removal tool on your Google webmaster tools. Try to check that out...

But to add removal request in webmaster tools, I have to remove permanent redirects on that pages, but the important fact is I don't want to loose my traffic that are coming from my old links or urls.

you have done right thing this applying 301 redirection. I did same thing for my site. I changed my page names & did 301 redirect old pages to new one. And all my old pages removed from google indexing. Right now i have only new pages in google indexing. So just do wait make confirmation you have done right 301 redirection.

Ya I don't have any clue. If you have do reply me. The main problem is for some of my keywords both (old and new URLs are appear), so i need to remove my old URLs from google index..

And could you please suggest me how long it'll take to remove urls from google index...

Why do you care if you're getting 2 listings for the price of 1? It'll right itself, but in the meantime, I'd say it's a good thing and not a situation to worry about ending.

If you want you url to be removed from index.. Change your title tag surely it will deindexed...
