Man...good article. I'm just starting to get into SEO and you basically just saved me some time and probably some money. Everything you said makes perfectly good sense (obviously...focus on your readers first before you focus on search engines) but everyone gets so wrapped up in the SEO hype that they forget to put the time in and go back to basics

CONTENT. Good solid content, without overusing keywords.

I don't think his reason for writing the article as he did was at all about keyword density - he wrote it for visitors, not search engines. The purpose of the article is to educate webmasters I think - not about gaining the top place on Google for a few keywords.

If anything needed improvement, it would be changing it from the default Times New Roman font as this isn't that nice to look at IMO. Something lighter on the eye, say Arial might be a bit better if you are going to publish long articles like that.
