have a really good site with unique content.




NOTE:- if the usual suspects start posting the usual non-advice it will be DELETED.

*Create quality content that is unique to your site (Don't buy articles or rip off other peoples work, it won't help)
*Make sure that the keywords you want to compete for are in your page, and properly used.
*Find other people who have websites related to your topic. They don't have to be direct competitors, but at least somewhat related. See if you can get a link to your site from their site. (Note on this, directories and link farms are bad, don't waste your time. For the most part, using Social Networking sites is also not worth the time).

If you create good quality content, then google will like your site and your rankings will go up.

Having a well formatted robots.txt file, and submitting a sitemap to all of the major search engines can also help you out.

You should create good quality content for your site & submit these articles. Directory submission & quality link exchange is also beneficial for that.

Get a google analysis account and check your traffic sources and see the amount of traffic that you get on a regular basis and see what term is getting you traffic.

You can hire people to optimize your site for you, or you can learn them by joining discussions in forums like this.. you just have to be really patient

But Chris if you can achieve the magic KD of 137.543% you know your page will rank even better than the #1 result. I swear it's the magic formula.

Or maybe I completely agree with you about ignoring the keyword density advise (or rather lack of advise).

* Look after your code
* Get links, no broken links
* Build a sitemap
* Don't forget the technical stuff
* Relevant content

quality links & unique quality content.

Create as many backlinks as you can...i am sure this will increase your positions

Its NOT all about backlinks!

All the advices given above are pretty good. Try and follow them and you'll pretty soon have a good position in the SE. Write well and relevant articles, take care of the keywords, keep the articles short - between 200 and 700 words, write on relevant forum, submit relevant articles to articles submission sites, submit your site to major search engines, get quality backlinks, etc.

dont be in a rush, it will really takes some time...

Make the different title & meta tag for every page, and do some link building..
