Well obviously before you place your website online you can optimise your own pages on the website so that search engines will see it better. But outside of your own site what is the one single method you have used to atract more visitors/clients that has really worked. It'd be interesting to hear everyone's success stories

This will be the only comment that you'll hear that will make any sense. If you build for your users, your traffic sources will diversify and you'll have less of a dependency on search engines as a result.

OP - if you get your *content* and *presentation* right most of your "SEO" will already have been done.

Use social bookmarking sites to get best back links...
Also use links in forums signs..
Make sitemap for your site and submit it to search engine...

I think community and forum posting, social bookmarking and link exchange
are the best way..

Link building techniques is great!

I am interested in a more local kind of client /viewer ,,,,,I am thinking to get the customers I need I need to link in free local directories and other local site links any Ideas ????

SEO is a complex of actiona and methods. And that is wron way when you concentrate only on one of them. That will not bring you that profit only time wasting.
