Directory submissions are a waste of time in my honest opinion, you time could be spent much better. You could be building unique fresh content, or attempt to build nature related backlinks.

Lets take an example of what a link directory is, well its a link directory. If you have a basic understanding of how the Pagerank sytem and theorized Google algorithm you would know that the SEO and Pagerank value of link directory links are little to none.

This is because they have so many out bound links all the value\weight is diluted. This is a good method for new webmasters to build backlinks, but once you get further along you will realize it is a waste of time.

Absolutely NONE at all is most likely.

It depends on PR of those directories, back links are value but google can punish for links from some directories.

I do still submit to directories, but most of them have little value i feel, i mean how many people on here actually link back to a directory, virtually no one i would imagine ?

submitting to directories is very good.

but you need to know to what directories to submit.

dont submit to linkfarms, or forged pr directories, or ofcourse dropped names with a directory added.

but if you do it good, it will def. help in seo.

last tip stay away from auto submissions or other programs to submit your directory with.

do it all by hand, that way you can control the progress and you can see if you want to be listed in the directory where you are submitting to.

Directory link is valuable for serps.
