I have news websites, can u all suggest me that how can i improve traffic of my websites. I want specific ideas that can be applied for news site only.
so that i can increase thousands of unique visitors.

Please dont reply if you have general ideas...quality link building, PR, content etc..

sorry for the reply, but I'm suggesting about your content here. Maybe if you want to drive traffic, better make your news very catchy and intriguing to the eyes of visitors.

Also, if your site is ranking in SERP with a nice keyword, there's a big percentage to drive traffic also.

try ppc, like adword or etc..

It's really difficult to offer any specific advice without seeing the web site the teacher needs help with. Care to give us a url?

Well.....submitting your website to different social bookmarking websites having large amount of daily traffic can also help you to get thousands of unique visitors to your site. Using PPC also help a lot.

You really don't want to or can't use link exchanges. If you're running an online newspaper, the only outgoing links need to be either materially relevant to the stories you're covering, or adverts.

The way you'll build circulation for this site has very little to do with seo and everything to do with traditional journalism. Pick two newspapers in your town and figure out what makes one more successful than the other; those are the things that will make your site succeed. I'm guessing getting the story before other sources is one of the best things you could do.

Well......all are good options except of first one-----don't go to submit your site to search engines directly. Just focus on submitting your site to major directories and link bulding and let the search engines to find and index your site.

But PPC is for short term only if your account expires you will pay for another..

Organic SEO is still the best...Link build manually...Build more IBLs rather than OBLs...

SEO and PPC both have thier own importance and both have their own advantages and disadvantages.

Like PPC gives instant results but SEO needs patience.

For a news site overall traffic is generated through the story pages, so optimize your story pages.

I would think that your unique content alone would generate the traffic.
Word of mouth after that.

if you want a good traffic, try to promote your site at yahoo groups, msn goups, social bookmarking sites and so fort, and of course the most effective way of building a traffic is to position your site at least on first page of every serps!
