SL users got problems? Lets discuss

Hi,
I thought it would be good to have this thread where we can discuss problems as a result of the acquisition. Nothing against the acquisition itself but issues that have come up for us as users. Yes, support staff is available for helping resolve issues but we can discuss and help each other out here.

Anyway, I accepted a project(for $145) on SL a few days before the acquisition and as it has always been with Scriptlance, I was charged a project fee of $2.25($7.25-$5 credit used). Then the acquisition happened on 9th July I think and the project was completed at the end of July. Now the buyer paid me the amount of $145 on 7th August, and Freelancer automatically charged me $14.5 as project fee!

I contacted support here on Freelancer and was told their records show that no fee was charged by Scriptlance for the particular project! I told them it was Scriptlance's policy to charge project fee as soon as a freelancer accepts the project, but all they say is that they have double checked and that they cannot refund the $14.5 . So once again I told them I had an email from SL that confirms the project fee being charged but they say their records don't show that I was charge previously.

Then I asked them to update my transaction history to reflect the transactions done on my account before the acquisition. But they say it is not possible to merge the older transactions, although they can give me details of the older transactions. I have asked for the same and am awaiting a response.

The support team is quick but I just don't understand how they can say this when it was Scriptlance's policy and especially after I told them I had an email from Scriptlance confirming the charge.

Anybody else face this issue? Come on in and we can discuss the problems of SL users!

Hi,

I am having a similar issue...freelancer.com is ripping me off.

I accepted a $200 project on Scriptlance and automatically paid the $10 fee there. Then the takeover by Freelancer.com took place, and when the project was finished last week they charged me $20 fees again.

I contacted support and even sent them the original mail from scriptlance stating $10 fees were already charged on my account...but got a nonsense reply from them back that is totally irrelevant:
Quote:
"Unfortunately you standard membership has expired already which is 5% for every accepted project. Since your membership back automatically to free membership we charge you 10% for the accepted project " 574317 Custom Store Search Module and Rendering time Improvemen"
Whether I am free or standard user is not the issue here...The project was started, accepted and commission paid on Scriptlance.com - Scriptlance terms and fees should thus apply (the $10 that is already paid). It is outrageous to charge fees twice for the same project. I've been a loyal Scriptlance programmer for years, but Freelancer.com seems dishonest and I will cease accepting projects there in the future if they don't fix this.

Just hang in there, buddy. I got my issue resolved after 4-5 messages with the support team. Here's what they finally sent:

Quote:
After further research on your Scriptlance records, we have confirmed that you were already charged the project fee for "{My project name}" before your transition to Freelancer.com.

As a courtesy, we have already refunded the project fee charged to your account last 08/07/2012. Kindly check your transaction history to confirm this.

We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused you. Let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.
I do not know what this 'research' of theirs is that finally proved to them that I had indeed paid the fee to SL. I told them about the email from SL confirming the fee being charged but that mail was never needed! After denying that I was already charged, in I think 3-4 mails, they said some 'further research' told them I was right. Just don't let go, talk to them and I hope your issue is resolved.

But it would have been wonderful if they had corrected this in the first place and also if they had specified the reasons for all this (when it is known that it was SL's policy to charge fee as soon as project is awarded). Things like these are what build trust and I just hope Freelancer does better on this.

Apparently support misunderstood my first ticket. They promptly refunded the fee today.

Bad for Bangladeshi scriptlance programmers

we lost our ratings

way of retrieving ratings are
1. Credit Card
2. Paypal
In out country no one can get international Credit Cards unless big business man with international Travel. We can have secured card (not credit card) and also for that we need to be traveler of outside Bangladesh (also we cant use payoneer card to verify)

2. Paypal ( ha ha ha ) its not yet supported by out country.

So, scriptlance is greedy enough to sell them self to Freelacer. Good move for both in terms of there business and making money, not for the real freelancers who made them.

I have lost my Reviews... I have almost 23 reviews over SL and now not a single review was returned to me by SL/FL.

I already have a FL a/c previously with saparate SL a/c. After their merge, Support says that only one a/c will remain active so they refunded my amount but not agree to give my reviews back. Isn't that very bad .

Why should I not use my both accounts separately. This is not my problem that they get merged.

I have did many projects on Sl for cheap rates just to get a single good review from client, and now see what happens. I have lost all...

I had a projects on scriptlance .. that I was paid for through SL but was not yet marked as completed [ at the moment they migrated me to freelancer ]

now this project is "In-Progress" [ along with another old project, that was finished long time ago ]

I contacted support telling them this project was finished and I was paid for through SL but they said there is nothing we can do and then later said we will move it to second level support and never heard from them after

Then the owner of the project contacted support and same thing happened with him [ they would no longer reply to him about this ticket nor me about mine ]

At the end I contacted live support asking to escalate the ticket and she said both tickets were closed and there is nothing she can do
