I was watching the news, gathering in bit of the hoopla about Jon Stewart's ripping into Jim Cramer and I was thinking, this is what happens when you turn on your liberal buddies. There can be no doubt that Jon Stewart, and extremely funny and intelligent individual, has become an increasingly valuable and partisan asset to the Democratic party in recent times. I have yet to see him tear into Barney Frank, the great defender of Fanny and Freddie from reform, for his blatant hypocracy. Nevertheless, I decided to go out and have a look at the interview to see what all the Hoopla was about.

I have to say, partisan or otherwise, the interview was jaw dropping. If you haven't seen it, or only saw bits of it on the news, you need to see it yourself to believe it. You won't find it anywhere else for reasons I'll explain in a minute.

It turns out the "Gotcha" video clips Stewart used in the interview were licensed to Stewart's show by TheStreet.com, a company Cramer co-founded and still owns 14% of. If the clips themselves don't make you angry enough at the crooks running Wallstreet, the story gets better. Apparently MSNBC, a supposed "News' outlet and sister company to CNBC, told its producers that the Stewart/Cramer story "was not of interest to their viewers". The icing on the cake is the CEO of TheStreet.com lost his job within 24 hours of Stewart's show hitting the airwaves.

I think its safe to say that neither TheStreet.com, NBC, or any of it's subsidiaries will be licensing or even talking about that video for the indefinite future, so get your viewing in while it's still possible. It might be one of the most insightful views into Wall St. us common folks are likely to get.

Its nice to know that NBC (and probably every other "News" outlet) is commited to that journalistic concept of letting the truth be known. Its funny to watch their "Indoctrination" so blatantly exposed on something other than presidential politics.

Very true. That doesn't make the video of Cramer promoting the idea of misleading the public to line his own pockets any less disgusting. We can now (officially) add the financial news programs to more propaganda to be distrusted.

Now Bloomberg, FBN, CNBC, and every other financial talking head is going on about Obama trying to retroactively revoke the bonuses paid to AIG derivatives traders which would weaken all contracts existant in the U.S.. Maybe hindsight is 20/20, but it struck me that if Bush, Obama, and all the rest of the big spending Democrats hadn't bailed them out with our tax dollars, they wouldnt be paying bonus's with them. It seems the government could have guaranteed those horribly leveraged Credit Default Swaps while still letting AIG die the death it needs to die, and we would still be money ahead.
