Some of you may have read one of my previous posts where I scratched my head wondering if Obama knew what the hell he is doing when it comes to talking the economy up or down. It was a nightmare, like the guy had no idea what effect his words had on the stock market. Frankly, I'm not the only person who was really beginning to wonder if he had a clue.

Then, once he slammed through his "stimulus" package, which was nothing more than a wet dream conglomeration of practically every liberal pet project ever wished for, and his budget laden with 9 billion dollars in earmarks, something changed. Suddenly, the economy doesn't look so dire to the president. Suddenly, he is talking the economy up and we get a small bounce in the DOW.
It hits me. The man is a genius, or at least as much of a genius as George W. Bush. If you scare the cr*p out of people, they will pass whatever you want. I find myself bubbling over with new found respect for the man. Roll into office on a swell of popularity and use that clout along with fear mongering to pass every dramatically "changing" peice of legislation in the first few months while you still "got it". Granted, its costing him support as the entire financial sector, including Warren Buffet, jumps the Obama ship, but hey, who cares if you get all your legislation passed? Hell, Bush lost Powell by his second term, but he got to do things his way too, right? Besides, getting the concensus together to roll back this cr*p could take forever.
On another note, it's been fun watching the Russians talk about putting bomber bases in Cuba and Venezuela again. Perhaps Bush wasn't the issue with America after all? In all fairness, it has been since "Camelot" that the Russians talked about putting nukes in our hemisphere. Of course if Obama really wants to make the JFK comparisons accurate, he is going to need to start another Vietnam style conflict and stage another "Bay of Pigs".
