I wonder what they will call "White House" if Obama become The President?

I think Herbie Hancock and George Clinton are playing the inauguration. There are rumors Sun Ra might show up. Ra says he'll be in a parallel universe that day, but would like to extend his congratulations to Mr Obama.

I think it's called "White House" because the building is painted white, not because of the President's skin color.

Oh they will...
As soon as Bam move in, Republicans will rename it.
I'm not sure about if they will re-paint it in black but they for sure will call it by the color

You mean the party responsible for freeing the slaves and for instituting civil rights in the face of Democratic opposition? Remember the solid South?
I may be a registered Democrat but I'm not going to stoop to blanket vilification of the Republicans. Our society has become polarized enough as it is.

I remember hearing about that, but it happened before Cain killed Abel. Has less to do with contemporary politics than the Magna Carta. Unless the Republicans are trying to be known as the historical coat tails party?

The idea that Republicans are anti-black could only forward by someone who has absolutely zero knowledge of history or the republican party. Lets not forget that your good friend Shrub had more minorities in his cabinet than any president prior, so much so it was named by that liberal trash mag Newsweek the cosmopolitan cabinet.
As I watched the Grammys last night, which featured two black church choirs with a highlighted cross in the background, I wondered again how a people whose background was so heavily founded in faith could vote by majority for a self proclaimed godless party like the Democrats. As more black families cross the 60k per year income level, you'll see that voting line change. Mark my words.
Lets also not forget the term "Black House" was first presented here by a non-Republican and a non-American.

Nope - that's a Stephen King novel . Seriously, if anything the US is too politically correct. I'm sure if Obama wins there will be some that will make derogatory remarks, but that is true of any president regardless of skin color or sexual practices or popularity rating.

Ha! The parties flip-flopped just one generation ago; that seems like more recent history. Just whose coattails are being ridden upon, and who is doing the riding? It's that kind of revisionistic BS that makes me eschew the far left recesses of the party I registered with.

Lincoln freed the slaves a generation ago if you're a sea turtle. In human terms things are quite different. No one walking the earth today was alive when slavery was abolished in the Union. Not one person. So pretending today's Republican Party had anything to do with a particular event in the distant past is dishonest.

Yeah I was always under the impression that the parties have done a complete 180 shift from where they were 150 years ago? Weren't Republicans the strong federalists and Democrats the advocates of states power and minmal government interference?

Technically, I didn't guess, I was just asking, buuut....... if that wastes a guess...... then I'll say you
(I thought he was referring to me, being the first to say "The Black House" here in this thread, but I live in Wisconsin, unless that's not a part of America.)

I wish Americans elect Obama as their President just to pees off all that white trash, rednecks and Triple K members and alike.
As to why they painted house in white, rumors says that they want to paint it in black to hide all the dirt inside but hardware store run out of black paint and white paint was on 2 for 1 sale, so they painted it in white
And talking about “Black House”, Republicans call it that since the first Black President Bill Clinton habituated it in 1992

Actually, you have two separate issues. There used to be a Federalist party which died before either the Democrat or Republican party existed. I'm not sure but I think that left both Democrats and Republicans mostly on the side of States rights. I believe the Republicans have always been the party of small overall government, though I guess the democrats called them Federalists when they imposed anti-slavery measures over states rights (specifically the southern states) during the civil war.
It is erroneous, however to say that no one alive witnessed the days of Democratic party racism. It still exists today with the Dixiecrats of the deep south. As recently as 1930, it was the entire Democratic party as they completely opposed racial integration. For the record, the Republicans have never had racism as a party theme since the emancipation proclamation.
Its interesting to hear fast replies use the words "White Trash" which, by any measure is a derogatory name based on race, to describe a group of people who mostly vote Democrat. Friends of yours? This in the same thread where he starts out wondering how long it will be until the Republicans cast racial slurs at Obama if he wins the white house. I'm not sure whether to call it hypocrisy or ignorance.
