would love to make a Music system in the form of a website or if possible (and preferable) a system which runs of a DVD disc (DVD becuase of the amount of files, it is not needed o play in conventional DVD player... a computer willbe fine)

Sorry im probally being confusing.

I kinda wantign two differant things here.

1)

I woud like a system which is a website which acts like a index for collection of music. it would need:
*search facility if possible
*to display results from db.
* have a back end wherei can add all info to dbs (NAME/artist/year/comment/url to the file/url to lyrics or lyrics themselves/song id/track)

*to some how have it so i can have a page like 1978 which just shows all the info of all the songs form that year in a table?...

basically i can do some php budont have much of a clue with mysql and php

Also does anyone know how i can have a cd which will auto run a wbsite off the disc (i know how to make it open the page etc in browser) but how would i go about having php/mysql on th disc and run. so i could use php inthe pages which are running off the disc? PLEASE HELP

I don't think its possible to run PHP/MySQL from any drive where apache (or other web server) is not already installed and configured to do so.

You might either need to revert to creating an app or building a flash interface.

You ask strange questions. I know the way to run the whole operating system off the cd but:
1. It is about linux distribution
2. It is default distro which you will have to upgrade by installing, configuring and running your webserver and then burn iy back to cd.
And considering your current skills I can guess that it will take you years to cope the situation.

All the rest is not a problem at all. Basically the required data structure will fit into the single table. Then you will have to write several scripts which should generate pages (data reports based on data from your table) of certain format (list of tracks, list of albums, list of bands/artists) according to input parameters (list all songs by Depeche Mode, list all albums by whoever released in 1992, etc).

Ok, i have this thing which i found which said it was basically a webserver with php and everythig so you could run a php mysql and everything website off a disc... no clue how to use or whatever.. i was called

Anyways... The main issue is that i dont really have a clue about using mysql with php
i know a fair amount of php but nothing advanced...

Could soemoen point me to a REALLY REALLY REALLY simple tutorial on how to use and do it?
