I'm looking to put together a site in my town much like citysearch that will allow me to list restaurants, bars and such. It would be a lot of coding and I'm a one man operation right now, so I'm hoping that someone could suggest a canned solution. It's there an out of the box solutions that could get me started?

i don't know it you can find a free solution ...
but i think you could find a paid script.

That's a big project. You can not do it with some free scripts. But if you have a good plan and good design you can mod some free scripts, and it will do as you wish. But why not you try with CMSs code? (Joomla, phpnuke...)

Well you're looking at probably some kind of cms, such as joomla or drupal.
Check them out to see if they meet your needs

Thanks for the Advise on Drupal and Joomla, I have seen them before and I'm a huge fan;however, for this project I was looking for someonething other than Open Source...I have a limited budget.

As I said, you can mod some features of one CMS that you feel are suitable for your project. You can try with our CMS code by PHP-Fusion. I think your project is close to our website. I mod PHP-Fusion code and it become a web hosting index. Why you dont make somethings like me?
