Ok I will try to explain what I am tryin to do, if someone could please point me in the right direction.
I would like to be able to burn a cd preferably using roxio toast 8 for mac, then have the directory structure of that cd link to a database, and fill in all the relative information, exactly as it was burnt to cd including the date, this needs to be available to my internal network for information puposes and I would also like them to be able to print out a CD cover for the front and back of the cd, with a common template picture, is this possible to do, and if so is there some sort of disk cataloing software that could link to the database.

I don't think anyone will be familiar with Roxio Tost 8. But what you are saying is that you want the directory/file structure printed on the CD?

Yes that is what im looking for but I would also like that directory structure to be viewable over the network to all the users and searchable. Just an update I found that there is a feature in toast to catalog your disks that you have burned and that the catalog application allows you to export the catalog out as a tab deliminated text document, maybe that could help in some way.

I would think that would be a hard task to do, because PHP will output its contents to a web browser, it will be difficult to format the layout to make it fit the CD.

I guess you could go into advanced GD imaging scripts, but I'll warn you that can be a can of worms.

Yes, I don't think you should do this with PHP. I'm not even close familiar with Java but from what I know it might do the trick.

i am by no means a expert in and scripting/programing language but it seems obvious to me that PHP is not the right choice for this, sounds like u need to make a proper program usin somin like C i supose...
