I have a portal on my web hosting site that my clients can login to so they can perform billing functions, cancel their account, re-enable their account, etc. These are functions that they just can't do in their cPanel.

However, as I have it now, I am storing their login information in a database which gets totally out of sync with each clients cPanel username/password and is VERY confusing for them.

Has anyone seen a php script (or any other language for that matter) that will authenticate each user against their cPanel username/password so all they have to remember is that?

Thanks in advance...

If you have root database access, you should be able to access the cPanel users db and evaluate username and passwords (as long as you are using the same hash functions.

I don't believe I have root database access. I guess I never thought about the cPanel username and passwords actually being in a database, but that makes sense I guess. When you change your password, it obviously changes the password in that database and runs some kind of script to sync up the FTP and other passwords on the system.

So I guess I need to ask the company that maintains my server if I can have some kind of access to that database I guess.

Any other thoughts while I pursue that?
